In this speech, Alex expresses concerns for the government's decision to exclude certain elements of EU laws through Brexit, such as the exclusion of the Charter of Fundamental Rights. Alex believes this will have unknowable consequences on the rights of individuals and businesses, such as the rights to privacy and data protection. The government also shows no active plans for agencies or clear definition of principles to replace Article 37 of the charter which calls for clean air.
In addition, Alex expresses his constituents' worry of losing rights that are established by the EU and thus, criticises the government for not working for the citizens of this country but is working for the "hardest Brexit possible".
